We're a team of interdisciplinary scientists and engineers with enthusiasm for computational modeling and optimization of engineering designs. Modern structures are designed with multiple functionalities in mind; accordingly, design tools capable of multiscale and multiphysics considerations are needed. Our team develops and applies state-of-the-art optimization methods for such a purpose, specifically targeting issues such as large-scale design variables, global optimization, nonlinearity, complex coupling of physics, and high computational cost. The team works closely with multidisciplinary researchers at the interface of engineering, computer science, and applied mathematics and strives to find simple and powerful engineering solutions.
